Abstract
A note from the chief justice, the administrative director's summary report, and an organizational chart delineating the structure of the judicial department precede an explanation of the judicial branch of government in Arizona. Reports of the activities of the judicial planning committee, foster care review boards, family counseling programs, and medical liability review panels are presented. Also included are activities relating to judicial education, the State grand jury, commission on judicial qualifications, and special court projects. These projects were the Maricopa Superior Court civil trial delay reduction project and the computer-aided transcription project. Data are given concerning caseload, financial, and personnel information for the supreme court, the court of appeals, superior courts, justice of the peace courts, and municipal courts. Long-term data are presented for Yavapai County Superior Court, Gila County Superior Court, and Mohave County Superior Court. Tables and graphs are included. The Arizona Constitution and lists of members of the various courts and commissions are appended.
