This document presents the instructional goal and curriculum outline for California police training focusing on crimes against the justice system.
Abstract
The instructional goal is to provide students with the ability to recognize when a crime against the justice system has occurred, to identify the crimes by their common names, and to classify them as either misdemeanors or felonies. The curriculum covers the following topics: bribery, perjury, impersonation of an officer, obstruction of an officer's official duties, filing a false police report, refusal to assist an officer, unlawful assembly, and disobedience to a dispersal order. Other topics include rout, riot, and incitement to riot; rescue, escape, and lynching; providing false information to a peace officer; intimidation of a victim or witness; and violation of a court order.
