EXPLANATION OF A SYSTEM FOR DEVELOPING INFORMATION OF A STATISTICAL NATURE ABOUT THE PROCESSING OF CRIMINAL DEFENDANTS IN A SUPERIOR COURT AS IT IS USED FOR THE SUPERIOR COURT OF ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA.
Abstract
THIS SYSTEM HAS TWO PARTS - AN INFORMATION BASE AND A DATA BASE. THE INFORMATION BASE IS A DEFENDANT-BASED TRACKING SYSTEM OR 'SUBJECT IN PROCESS SYSTEM' WHICH KEEPS A RECORD OF EVERY CRIMINAL DEFENDANT WHO IS ACTIVE IN THE COURT. THE DATA BASE IS THE DATA WHICH IS EXTRACTED PERIODICALLY FROM THE INFORMATION BASE AND WHICH DESCRIBES THE FLOW OF DEFENDANTS THROUGH THE NETWORK REPRESENTING THE CRIMINAL COURT. THE APPENDIX CONTAINS THE SET OF INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE OPERATION OF THE MANUAL INFORMATION BASE OF THE DEFENDANT FLOW INFORMATION SYSTEM. (AUTHOR ABSTRACT MODIFIED)
