This study was to determine variables that are significant predictors of employment status among persons who report methamphetamine use.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine variables that are significant predictors of employment status among persons who report methamphetamine use. A sample was derived from the 2006 and 2007 National Survey on Drug Use and Health. Using a chi-square analysis, associations between the independent variables and employment status were identified. Variables with significant associations were retained for the stepwise logistic regression analysis. Results indicated that serious psychological distress was a significant predictor of employment status among persons who report methamphetamine use. The results were used to develop treatment implications for case managers to improve employment among this population. Abstract published by arrangement with Taylor and Francis.
