NORRISTOWN'S HIGH CRIME PATROL CONSISTS OF FIVE OFFICERS, ONE SERGEANT, TWO PATROL CARS AND SIX MOBILE RADIOS WHICH ARE DEPLOYED TO STOP HEROIN ADDICTS BEFORE THEY COMMIT CRIMES BY ARRESTING THEM ON DRUG CHARGES.
Abstract
THE EVALUATOR, WHILE DEPLORING THE CRIME STATISTIC COLLECTION TECHNIQUES IN USE BY THE NORRISTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT, IDENTIFIED THE THREE AREAS WHICH COMPRISE THE EVALUATION. THEY ARE: A PRE-PROGRAM EVALUATION OF NORRISTOWN'S CRIME, ARREST, AND CLEARANCE STATISTICS; THE GENERATION OF A DOCUMENT BETWEEN THE EVALUATOR AND THE NORRISTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT OUTLINING THE OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAM AND SPECIFIC ITEMS AND MEASURES TO BE USED FOR THE EVALUATION; AND, THE OBTAINING OF THE NECESSARY DATA TO MAKE THE EVALUATION AS PER THE DOCUMENT DESCRIBED ABOVE. THE EVALUATOR CONCLUDED THAT THE PROJECT HAS SUCCESSFULLY OVERCOME ANY MORALE DIFFICULTIES WHICH MIGHT HAVE ARISEN, SHOULD BE RE-FUNDED, AND SHOULD BE EXPANDED.
