This booklet lists gang violence related programs that are already in place statewide or in individual counties in Utah.
Abstract
The first section presents a sample of statewide gang violence prevention and intervention programs. All 17 programs are school-based. The second section presents a sample of gang violence prevention and intervention programs in Salt Lake County. The 47 listings include school-based programs, recreation programs, law enforcement programs, jobs and training programs, parent and family programs, neighborhood programs, cultural diversity programs, substance abuse programs, business programs, and medical programs. The final section consists of a sample of gang violence prevention and intervention programs in Weber and Davis Counties. The 18 programs described include school-based programs, substance abuse, cultural diversity, recreation, and family. For each entry in the three sections, the name of the program, a brief program description, a contact person, address, phone number, funding, the number of clients served, the target population, and the collaborating agencies are listed.
