Abstract
THE SPECIFIC STUDIES AND THEIR OBJECTIVES ARE AS FOLLOWS: RESIDENTIAL SURVEY (DATA ON THE NUMBER AND DISTRIBUTION OF ILLEGALS); BORDER PATROL STAFFING PATTERN EXPERIMENT (DATA ON FLOWS OF THOSE ENTERING WITHOUT INSPECTION); BORDER PATROL SENSOR REPORTING EXPERIMENT (DATA ON FLOWS OF THOSE ENTERING WITHOUT INSPECTION); FRAUDULENT DOCUMENTATION STUDY (DATA ON FLOWS OF ILLEGAL ALIENS ENTERING THE COUNTRY WITH FRAUDULENT DOCUMENTATION); CHARACTERISTICS STUDY (DATA ON THE CHARACTERISTICS OF ILLEGAL ALIENS); INDUSTRIAL SURVEY AND A STUDY OF THE IMPACT OF ILLEGALS ON LEGAL ALIENS (BOTH DATA ON IMPACTS OF ILLEGALS ON LEGAL ALIENS (BOTH DATA ON IMPACTS OF ILLEGALS). THIS REPORT ALSO OUTLINES THE RELATIONSHIPS AMONG THESE STUDIES AND PROPOSES A STUDY ORGANIZATION. IN ADDITION A TIMETABLE FOR RESEARCH DESIGN AND A COPY OF THE SURVEY QUESTIONNAIRE ARE APPENDED. THIS IS THE THIRD SECTION OF A THREE-PART REPORT TO LEAA, THE FIRST SECTION INCLUDED A DISCUSSION OF THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE INFLUX OF ILLEGAL ALIENS; AND A DESCRIPTION OF VARIOUS METHODS OF MEASURING THIS PHENOMEN. THE SECOND WAS AN ANNOTATED BIBLIOGRAPHY ON THE SUBJECT.
