This report covers the activities of the various committees of the Judicial Conference as well as the reports of the Director of the Administrative Office and the Federal Judicial Center.
Abstract
The committee reports cover court administration, budget, judicial ethics, judicial activities, the administration of the Federal Magistrates System, the administration of the bankruptcy system, and the administration of the probation system, as well as the administration of the criminal law, the implementation of the Criminal Justice Act, the operation of the jury system, and intercircuit assignments. A report was also received from the ad hoc committee on the disposition of court records. Tabular data are provided for the U.S. courts of appeals, U.S. district courts, and the U.S. Supreme Court. Data on payments under the Criminal Justice Act are also provided.
