Significant data and relevant statistics concerning the Arkansas Judicial Department during 1980 are presented in this annual report.
Abstract
This report, covering all phases of the Arkansas judicial system, provides statistics on the State supreme court, court of appeals, courts of general jurisdiction, and courts of limited jurisdiction. Statistics regarding the offices of public defender in the State are also carried in order to reflect the extent to which defense services are provided for indigents in those areas which have established public defender offices. Highlights of the year include the election of a new chief justice to the Arkansas Supreme Court and the election of six new judges to the Arkansas Court of Appeals.
