Responses of 328 officers from Ohio's 45 medium-sized police departments to a survey conducted in 1981-1982 are analyzed.
          Abstract
Ninety-eight percent of the officers were white males, and nearly 90 percent were under the age of 35. Further, 60 percent completed at least 1 year of education after high school. Statistical data concerning prior experience and administrative, investigative, and patrol functions are reported. Finally, the performance frequency for seven selected physical activities is noted. Forty-nine tables are included.
