This manual is designed to standardize the effective operation of aircraft belonging to the Marion County Sheriff Department's Air Wing in Indianapolis.
Abstract
Specific guidelines have been incorporated in the manual to ensure that aircraft operations occur in a safe and controllable manner. The manual accommodates both fixed wing and rotary wing aircraft which provide transportation and aviation law enforcement support to the Marion County Sheriff Department. The manual covers such areas as aircraft specifications, pilot qualifications and medical requirements, flight scdheduling procedures, aircraft maintenance, and emergency notification procedures. In addition, the manual includes position descriptions and responsibilities and forms and records.
