This 1979 annual report of the Maryland State Police (MSP) includes information and statistics related to the activities of MSP bureaus, divisions, and units, including each MSP jurisdiction ('barracks') as well as sworn personnel and expenditures.
Abstract
Summary data are provided on personnel use, traffic arrests, and serious crimes investigated by the MSP. Information and statistics pertinent to the work of the superintendent's staff are presented under the following units and divisions: legal counsel, public information, planning and research, staff inspection, internal affairs, finance, personnel management, and the Maryland Port Administration. The report on the activities of the Field Operations Bureau covers traffic enforcement activities and the work of the Field Operations Staff units as well as the distribution of police services by county. Statistics and information are also provided for the work of each barrack. The work of the Special Operations Bureau is presented under the following divisions and units: investigation, intelligence, crime laboratory, truck enforcement, aviation, automotive safety enforcement, airport, executive protection, security services, and licensing. The report on the Logistical Services Bureau is also included along with a presentation of the highlights of 1979.
