Abstract
TOPICS CONSIDERED INCLUDE NOTIFICATION OF ACCIDENTS, ORGANIZATION OF THE INVESTIGATION AT THE ACCIDENT SITE, AND ORGANIZATION OF THE PATHOLOGICAL ASPECTS OF A MAJOR FATAL AIRCRAFT ACCIDENT, INCLUDING BODY STORAGE AND VICTIM IDENTIFICATION. INCLUDED IN THIS REPORT ARE COPIES OF THE FOLLOWING FORMS: FATAL AIRCRAFT ACCIDENT VICTIM IDENTIFICATION AND AUTOPSY FORM, THE INTERNAL EXAMINATION FORM, AND THE DENTAL EXAMINATION FORM. AN APPENDIX HAS BEEN INCLUDED DEALING WITH PROCEDURES TO BE FOLLOWED WHEN AN AIRCRAFT IS REPORTED MISSING OR OVERDUE. IN ADDITION, IT INCORPORATES SOME INFORMATION PROVIDED BY A CONSULTANT PATHOLOGIST AT THE RAF INSTITUTE OF PATHOLOGY AND TROPICAL MEDICINE, WHICH DESCRIBES FURTHER WORK OF THE AVIATION PATHOLOGISTS AND THE SPECIALIST FUNERAL DIRECTORS, FOLLOWING A MAJOR AIR DISASTER.
