          Abstract
Foot beats were reinstituted to promote safer neighborhoods and to attend more closely to local crime problems. Activities of the various police offices, divisions, and bureaus are noted. Data are given on crime by police district, and on traffic accidents, juvenile arrests, crime index offenses, crime adult arrests, and police personnel. Photographs, graphs, and tables are supplied.
