Abstract
THIS REPORT PRESENTS FACTS AND OPINIONS OBTAINED FROM COURTS PERSONNEL CONCERNING THE DISTRICT COURT IN MINNESOTA. THE SURVEY TEAM SENT QUESTIONNAIRES TO EACH OF THE 72 DISTRICT COURT JUDGES IN THE STATE. FOLLOW-UP INTERVIEWS WERE HELD WITH JUDGES AND STAFF MEMBERS. EMPHASIZED WAS THE STRUCTURAL, ORGANIZATIONAL AND ADMINISTRATIVE ASPECTS OF THE COURT'S OPERATIONS. A STATEWIDE SUMMARY OF QUESTIONNAIRE RESPONSES APPEARS IN THE APPENDIX. ALSO INCLUDED ARE THE CHAPTERS OF THE MINNESOTA STATUTES PERTAINING TO DISGRICT COURTS, STATISTICS ON DISTRICT COURT CASELOADS, AND A MAP OF THE JUDICIAL DISTRICTS.
