This 2012 National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS) presents data on crime incidents for calendar year 2012 reported by 6,115 Law enforcement agencies across the Nation (approximately 33 percent of all agencies that submit data to the FBI Uniform Crime Reports (UCR) Program.
Abstract
The report contains data on incidents, offenses, victims, and known offenders for 46 specific crimes in 22 major offense categories. It details the age, sex, and race of victims, known offenders, and arrestees; crime locations and times of day; and the type of weapons and force used. Consisting of 97 tables, NIBRS 2012 presents 32 offense tables on crimes against persons, property crimes, and crimes against society. Twenty-four tables address various sex offenses, and 36 tables list offenses by State and individual law enforcement agency. Five tables focus on the demographics of arrestees connected to NIBRS incidents.
