This fact sheet outlines the benefits of State and local crime-victim service agencies' partnering with the U.S. Justice Department's Office for Victims of Crime (OVC) in providing training for their personnel.
Abstract
The fact sheet's introductory instruction to victim service agencies is to "Gather a group of allied professionals serving crime victims in your area, arrange a meeting space, select a training topic, and OVC will meet you where you are." The benefits of partnering with OVC for training are then briefly outlined under the following captions: "No Costs Attached;" "High Quality Instructors;" "Face-To-Face, Interactive Learning;" and "Education Credits." The following advice is provided on how to get started with OVC training: Apply early; let people know; find a place to hold the training; and relax, because OVC will arrange for the training event to meet your needs on your schedule.
