AN EVALUATION OF THE BUREAU OF INVESTIGATIONS TO DETERMINE WHETHER A 100,000 DOLLAR GRANT RECEIVED ON FEBRUARY 5, 1973 WAS BEING UTILIZED IN A COST-EFFECTIVE MANNER.
Abstract
THE PURPOSE OF THIS GRANT WAS TO INCREASE THE CAPACITY OF THE BUREAU TO HANDLE AN INCREASED CASELOAD IN FRAUD, BRIBERY, CORRUPTION AND RELATED MATTERS. THE SIX NEW EMPLOYEES THAT WERE HIRED AND THE AUTOS THAT WERE BOUGHT WAS FOUND TO INCREASE THE CAPACITY OF THE BUREAU BY THIRTY PERCENT. THE DESCRIPTION OF THE BUREAU'S OPERATIONS INCLUDES ITS HISTORY AND JURISDICTION, ORGANIZATION, WORK LOAD, FACILITIES AND EQUIPMENT, PERSONNEL, SUPERVISORY OPERATIONS, INVESTIGATIVE OPERATIONS, AND POLICIES AND PROGRAMS.
