THIS REPORT PROVIDES ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THE INTAKE UNIT FROM THE TIME OF THE REFUNDING EVALUATION REPORT, AND INCLUDES SUCH TOPICS AS PROJECT CASELOAD, RESPONSE TO EVALUATION FORMS, AND PROJECT COSTS.
Abstract
PROJECT PROBATION INTAKE WAS 31.8 CASES PER DAY, STILL BELOW ITS PROJECTED CASELOAD OF 50 CASES PER DAY. THE NUMBER OF PRE-PAROLE INTERVIEWS AND REPORTS COMPLETED DURING THE UPDATE REPORT PERIOD IS ALSO REPORTED. OF THE ONE THOUSAND EVALUATION FORMS SENT OUT, A TOTAL OF 182 USABLE FORMS HAD BEEN RECEIVED BY THE CUT-OFF DATE. RESPONSES WERE FOUND TO BE GENERALLY FAVORABLE. PROBATION INTAKE COST-PER-CASE WAS 33.01 DOLLARS, WHILE PRE-PAROLE COST-PER-CASE WAS 217-62 DOLLARS. FEDERAL FUNDING FOR THE INTAKE UNIT WAS TERMINATED AS OF JULY 1, 1975. THE REDUCED OPERATIONS OF THE UNIT AFTER LOSS OF REFUNDING ARE VRIEFLY DESCRIBED. FOR THE ADDENDUM TO THE REFUNDING EVALUATION REPORT, SEE NCJ26165.
