This final report summarizes the project activities of the American Correctional Association and its subcontractor, Correctional Services Group, Inc., from June 20, 1986, through October 31, 1987, in implementing a grant to provide technical assistance and training for correctional agencies and staff in the implementation of the Private Sector/Prison Industry Enhancement Certification program (PS/PIEC).
Abstract
The report is divided into five tasks performed by the grant recipient. Task 1, the provision of consultation and advice assistance, involved the selection of consultants from the pool of staff expertise within the certified State PS/PIEC projects and the coordination of their delivery of technical assistance advice and consultation. Task 2, the dissemination of documentation, involved the review of documents from requestors, a literature review, and the dissemination of materials as required by the grant contract. Task 3, the demonstration and observation of model program participation, consisted of the identification of and publicity for exemplary PS/PIEC program management practices and models in the specified program areas. Task 4, training and development, involved the design, development, and implementation of specialized training programs for State and local correctional industry personnel responsible for the planning, development, operation, and administration of the PS/PIEC program. Task 5, reporting, involved monthly status reports on the five tasks. Appended contract documents
