This report is designed to provide an accurate and useful analysis of delinquency trends in Florida over the past five years.
Abstract
Data were taken for the most part from the Client Information System, a database used by the Department of Juvenile Justice to track delinquency offenses/referrals from law enforcement. Each section of the report describes what parameters were used to determine how the data portrayed in that section were selected. The report covers, in separate chapters, delinquency cases received and youths referred, cases and youths reported detained, cases and youths disposed, cases and youths disposed nonjudicially, cases and youths disposed judicially, cases and youths referred to the juvenile alternative services program, cases and youths placed on community control, commitments to delinquency programs and youths committed, and cases and youths transferred to adult courts.
