These instructional materials were developed to provide college students with a foundation on how to access and provide services to people victimized by crime, including those who share their campus environment.
Abstract
After completing this curriculum kit, students should be able to describe basic patterns of criminal victimization, list possible reactions of individuals to criminal victimization, list reasons why victims may and may not report crime, plan a way to respond to crime victims, and list local resources to help crime victims. Completion of the PowerPoint presentation requires 50 minutes. Additional exercises and activities are provided to expand the PowerPoint presentation or to be used as before or after assignments. The various slides in the PowerPoint presentation/class lecture are outlined, and suggested talking points are provided for each slide. 18 references and a listing of national resources for crime victims
