During the 1987-1988 legislative session, the Committee focused on a number of major alcohol and drug abuse-related issues and proposals. Representatives of various State divisions and State and community leaders testified on the Involuntary Commitment Law, Dually-diagnosed Individuals, South Carolina Network of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Services, SCCADA Funding, Opposition to Sunday Beer Sales, Legislation Limiting Drink Promotions, Realistic Taxation of Alcoholic Beverages in South Carolina, and legislation on Watercraft DUI and the Highway Safety Act.
