Tables and graphs present crime statistics of Argentina for 1980.
Abstract
The statistical analysis is based on the following annual totals: 227,578 criminal acts involving police intervention; 2,462 complaints and quarrels; and 23,466 sentenced convictions. Criminal acts with police intervention are reported according to headings of the penal code, by jurisdiction, and for female offenders. The complaints and quarrels represent cases brought before tribunals of the peace without police intervention. Tables on sentenced convictions are shown by jurisdiction, for females, for juveniles, and by offenders' prior record. Statistical summaries are also presented for each Province of the country. Data in these sections delineate crime types, sentence types, offender characteristics, criminal motivations, and duration of the criminal process. The bulk of the document is in tabular form.
