Statistical data provide information on the activities of the Los Angeles Police Department for the calendar year 1991.
Abstract
A collection of tables present information on population, size, and police cost; crime, arrest, and traffic rates per 1,000 population; crimes and attempted crimes reported by the Federal Bureau of Investigation; crimes and other investigations; juvenile and adult arrests; traffic accidents and enforcement; telephone calls received and units dispatched; personnel and equipment; and crime and arrest data provided by the Bureau of Criminal Statistics. The data on crimes and other investigations covers homicides, forcible rapes and attempted rapes, aggravated assaults, robberies, burglaries, larcenies, vehicle thefts and recoveries, Part II offenses, arson, and law enforcement officers killed or assaulted. The information on adult and juvenile arrests includes dispositions for these arrests. A total of 348,783 crimes were reported to the California Bureau of Criminal Statistics in 1991; of these crimes there were l,082 homicides, 2,073 forcible rapes, 39,967 robberies, 47,412 aggravated assaults, 57,772 burglaries, 131,016 larcenies, and 69,461 vehicle thefts.
