Abstract

"Michigan State Police Vehicle and Motorcycle Evaluation Help Inform Purchasing Decisions" describes the benefits and testing procedures of this annual evaluation program, which has been evaluating and publishing testing results for police vehicles since 1975. Information for online access to testing results is provided. "Houston and Harris County Develop Partnership to Combat Elder Abuse" describes the work of the new Harris County Senior Justice Assessment Center, which coordinates a multidisciplinary team that includes the Houston Police Department, the Harris County Sheriff's Office, Harris County Protective services, the district attorney's office, the Area Agency on Aging, Harris County Health Services, and the University of texas Health Services. "New York Prison Using UAS Detection Technology" describes a Long Island correctional facility's use of UAS detection technology designed to thwart any attempts by inmate cohorts outside the prison to deliver contraband to inmates via UAS. "Infographic Available on sUAS and Public Safety" describes the features an overview of law enforcement use of small unmanned aircraft systems (sUAS). It is intended for use by law enforcement agencies considering the purchase of sUAS and for communities interested in learning more about the purposes and protections associated with their use by law enforcement agencies.
