This annotated bibliography provides a compilation of resources with general information on trauma as well as resources specifically for the criminal justice system as it treats trauma in the context of corrections.
Abstract
Trauma-informed care in the context of the criminal justice corrections domain contains listings with general information and also listings that deal specifically with youth involved in the justice system and gender-informed trauma treatment in addition to gender-neutral trauma care in corrections. Listings also address screenings and assessments for trauma. Another information source within the bibliography consists of brief descriptions of the features and functions of various tools that screen for and assess the nature of trauma, e.g., tools described include Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE), Child Behavior Checklist, Impact of Events Scale - Revised, and Life Events Checklist. Fourteen tools related to the treatment of trauma are profiled.
