Abstract
THIS PAMPHLET IS ONE OF A SERIES OF REPORTS OF THE UTAH COUNCIL ON CRIMINAL JUSTICE ADMINISTRATION. THE STANDARDS AND RECOMMENDATIONS CONTAINED IN THESE REPORTS ARE BASED LARGELY ON THE WORK OF THE NATIONAL ADVISORY COMMISSION ON CRIMINAL JUSTICE STANDARDS AND GOALS. STANDARDS ARE PROVIDED ON SUCH AREAS AS ACTIVITIES OF THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE PLANNING AGENCY AND COORDINATING COUNCIL; DEVELOPMENT OF MECHANISMS FOR INTRODUCING THE ANALYSES AND RECOMMENDATIONS OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE PLANNING AGENCIES INTO THEIR BUDGETARY PROCESSES; AND SETTING MINIMUM STATEWIDE STANDARDS FOR RECIPIENTS OF GRANTS AND SUBGRANTS. ALSO INCLUDED ARE STANDARDS ON DEVELOPMENT OF PERMANENT STATE CRIMINAL JUSTICE PLANNING AGENCIES AND OTHER PLANNING CAPABILITIES; AND PARTICIPATION OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE AGENCIES, GOVERNMENT, AND THE PUBLIC IN THE PLANNING PROCESS. FOR EACH STANDARD, THE STATUS OF UTAH WITH RESPECT TO THE STANDARD AND METHODS OF IMPLEMENTING THE STANDARD ARE DISCUSSED. A RECOMMENDATION ON FEDERAL CRIMINAL JUSTICE PLANNING IS ALSO INCLUDED. THIS SERIES IS NUMBERED NCJ-40697 THROUGH 40701....DMC
