The National Institute of Justice's CrimeSolutions website is meant to help practitioners and policymakers understand what works in justice-related programs and practices. Included on CrimeSolutions is information about and ratings of programs and practices that relate to various topics, including drug courts.

National Institute of Justice (NIJ): Drug Courts
This section of the NIJ website provides an overview of drug courts and access to articles, events, and other resources.

National Institute of Justice (NIJ): Multisite Adult Drug Court Evaluation (MADCE)
The MADCE study was an unprecedented drug court evaluation study which addressed several research questions:

  • What is the impact of adult drug courts on alcohol and other drug use, criminal recidivism, employment and other functional outcomes?
  • What community, program and offender characteristics predict these short- and long-term outcomes?
  • How do changes in short-term outcomes such as offender perceptions and attitudes mediate the impact of programs on long-term outcomes?
  • Are there cost savings attributable to drug court programs?

National Juvenile Treatment Court Dashboard
Launched in 2022, this Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention resource shows juvenile drug treatment courts operating across the U.S. and details the tools, programs, and resources they use.

State Justice Institute (SJI)
