"Bonds of Compassion - Homeboy Industries" reports on a program in Los Angeles that serves men and women formerly involved in gangs. During their time at "Homeboy," clients are assigned case managers, who help them chart an individualized course through therapy and additional services tailored to their needs and development in the areas of education, socialization, and employment. "National Gang Center Web Site" describes recent updates in the National Gang Center's Web site, which are intended to improve the user's online experience. "Long-Term Consequences of Adolescent Gang Membership for Adult Functioning" reports on recent research conducted at the University of Washington that found the consequences of adolescent gang members last far into adulthood. "Life Facing Bars: A Gang Prevention Documentary" focuses on life in California's Central Coast gangs, as members and ex-members share their experiences of gang life, dispelling the false promises and expectations. "OJJDP Comprehensive Gang Model Training" describes a training event sponsored by the U.S. Justice Department's Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention's (OJJDP's). This event involved the training of just over 60 participants from 15 jurisdictions across the Nation. The focus was on OJJDP's Comprehensive Gang Model. The core strategies of the model are community mobilization, opportunities provision, social intervention, suppression, and organizational change and development.
