Abstract

This report illustrates how the Platform, while following the development of new police recruits, can be used to evaluate the effectiveness of a new police recruit training program in Chicago. This demonstration project is based on the premise that police-citizen encounters can be improved by strengthening the interpersonal skills and emotion-regulation techniques of new officers. Preliminary results from a Randomized Control Trial are presented.
