Abstract
Based on Oregon's Project Graduation, the manual notes benefits to both students and parents of a graduation party with no alcohol or drug consumption. The manual covers getting started, selecting the party coordinator, and gathering support. Approaches to giving a party are noted, with consideration given to the theme, facility, or setting possibilities; the establishment of rules; fundraising; and preparing a budget. Party committee activities are detailed that focus on entertainment, food, decorations, publicity, prizes, tickets, chaperones, volunteers, and cleanup. Appendixes contain sample letters, invitations, and party activity charts, as well as information on Oregon law related to alcohol/drugs and minors. Illustrations.
