Abstract
In 1991, there were 903 rapes and 149 attempted rapes reported by Arkansas law enforcement agencies through the UCR program. This represents an increase of 4 percent over 1990 figures and a 54-percent increase over the past 5 years. Rape statistics are tabulated by time of day, day of week, and month. The section on victims of rape tabulates statistics regarding weapons used to exert force, victim- offender race relationship, relationship of offender to victim, rapes involving family members, location of rapes and attempted rapes, and medical attention for victims. Other tables present data on rape reporting time lapse, number of offenders per rape, and characteristics of suspected rape offenders. A list of the number of rapes and attempted rape by county and reporting agency is included.
