This report presents information on victims of violent crime in the State of Idaho for the period 2005 through 2009.
Abstract
Major findings from this report include: for the period 2005-2009, the total number of victims of crime in Idaho decreased by 11.1 percent, with the number of non-violent crime victims decreasing by 13.6 percent and the number of violent crime victims decreasing by 5.2 percent; for the same period, the total number of property crime victims decreased by 14.7 percent; 55.8 percent of crime victims were women, compared to 43.8 percent for men; and 21 percent of aggravated assault victims and 13.6 percent of homicide victims were intimately related to the offender. This report presents information on victims of violent crime in Idaho for the period 2005 through 2009. Data for the report were obtained from the Idaho Incident Based Reporting System (IIBRS) and includes information on characteristics of victims of property crime, violent crime, domestic violence, family violence, and sexual assault. The demographic characteristics of individual victims of crime presented in this report include age, gender, race, ethnicity, location of crime, and rate of crime by county.
