This report presents the results of meetings of the American Society of Crime Laboratory Directors/ Laboratory Accreditation Board (ASCLD/LAB) that were held to decide on the accreditation status of U.S. crime laboratories.
Abstract
The ASCLD/LAB Board of Directors held 10 meetings from December 1, 2001, to December 31, 2003, during which deliberations were held and decisions were made concerning the accreditation status of U.S. Crime Laboratories. The board granted accreditation to 125 laboratories during this time period. Accreditation was granted to 48 laboratories for the first time, while renewal of accreditation was granted to 77 labs.
