This fourth volume advances the effort of the previous volumes in providing an update of innovative and groundbreaking solutions to the persistent problems of violence, bullying, security breaches, gang tensions, and social media abuse in the Nation's schools.
This fourth volume describes an educational video on cyber safety produced by a Georgia law enforcement officer; new approaches to training for school security implemented by the Indiana State Police and the campus police at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst; a free campus safety app developed by a team of students at the University of Michigan; an educational campaign produced by Connecticut high school students; and a number of other school-community-law enforcement collaborative efforts to improve safety at school. This volume also refers readers to the website (SchoolSafetyInfo.org) of the Justice Technology Information Center (JTIC), which continually updates school safety news, information, and technology. It also includes links to a wide range of resources and materials produced at the Federal, State, and local levels.
