This Special Feature informs of the prevalence, prevention, and response efforts to address domestic violence, and includes training and technical assistance resources. It discusses the negative effects of family violence, providing links to domestic violence statistics, and notes how the Office of Justice Programs works to support victims of domestic violence. The pages on prevalence, prevention, and response to domestic violence all include federal and federally supported materials and websites. Resources linked and discussed in those pages provide criminal victimization statistics; reports and research on missing or abducted children and on violence against women; Children’s Advocacy Center information; reports on efforts to disrupt the cycle of violence; websites such as CrimeSolutions to promote effective programs and practices for achieving positive outcomes in criminal justice; child victims and witness support materials; and other statistical information resources. The training and technical assistance page provides support for Native American and Alaska Native communities, child welfare information resources, intimate partner physical injury risk assessment tool training, and other law enforcement and staff training resources.
