Students taking the course, Information Age Technologies and the Justice System course at Fort Hays State University (FHSU) learn to find information on the Internet and navigate the JUSTNET Web site. However, many law enforcement and corrections professionals may have difficulty locating information online. To assist these professionals, the National Law Enforcement and Corrections Technology Center (NLECTC) in Maryland provides surfing lessons. However, because NLECTC needs to orient a number of law enforcement and corrections officers and administrators to the JUSTNET Web site, they established the train-the-trainer class. In the train-the-trainer class information specialists teach up to 15 individuals on how to navigate the Internet and use JUSTNET. These individuals then can teach the information they learned to their coworkers. This article briefly describes the content of the train-the-trainer class.
