THE SECTION ON FIREARMS TREATS BALLISTICS, FIREARMS IDENTIFICATION, AND BULLET HOLE IDENTIFICATION. THE TEXT FEATURES A REVIEW OF DEVICES AND MATERIALS RELATED TO FIRES AND EXPLOSIONS. BOTH ILLICIT AND ACCIDENTAL CIRCUMSTANCES ARE DISCUSSED, AS WELL AS PROCEDURES FOR INVESTIGATING THEM.
