THE AUTHOR CONTENDS THAT THE ACADEMY OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE SCIENCES SHOULD SEEK RECOGNITION AS THE OFFICIALLY RECOGNIZED ACCREDITING BODY FOR COLLEGIATE-LEVEL PROGRAMS IN THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE FIELD.
Abstract
SUGGESTED STANDARDS CATEGORIES FOR ACCREDITATION CONSIDERATION INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING: PROGRAM OBJECTIVES, PROGRAM PLACEMENT WITHIN THE ACADEMIC INSTITUTION, CURRICULUM, FACULTY QUALIFICATIONS, THE LIBRARY AND OTHER LEARNING RESOURCES, FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR THE PROGRAM, THE GRANTING OF ACADEMIC CREDIT, AND THE RELATIONSHIPS OF PROGRAMS TO OPERATING AGENCIES.
