Abstract
THE RESEARCH EFFORT CONSISTED OF THREE RELATED PROJECTS (1) THE WAYNE COUNTY TRAFFIC FATALITY STUDY; (2) DRIVING PERFORMANCE OF AN ALCOHOLIC POPULATION; (3) DESCRIPTION AND ANALYSIS OF TEN COURT-RELATED TREATMENT PROGRAMS FOR THE ALCOHOLIC. THE DRIVING POPULATIONS IN THE FIRST TWO PROJECTS WERE COMPARED WITH A RANDOM SAMPLE OF MICHIGAN DRIVERS AND ALSO WITH A RANDOM SAMPLE OF DRIVERS CONVICTED OF DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF LIQUOR (DUIL) OR DRIVING WHILE IMPAIRED (DWI) OFFENSES.
