A HIGH PERFORMANCE GROUP OF PATROLMEN, THOSE WITH A LARGE NUMBER OF ARRESTS, AND A LOW PERFORMANCE GROUP WERE SURVEYED.
Abstract
'THERE WAS A SIGNIFICANT DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE MEANS OF THE HIGH PERFORMANCE GROUP AND THE LOW PERFORMANCE GROUP IN RELATION TO ATTITUDE ABOUT PROMOTIONAL OPPORTUNITY AND THE EDUCATIONAL LEVEL ATTAINED. THE PATROLMEN WERE NOT SUBSTANTIALLY DIFFERENT IN THE MEANS OF SATISFACTION WITH THEIR PAY, SUPERVISION, WORK PERFORMED, PEOPLE WORKED WITH, AND POLITICAL VIEWPOINT. THERE WAS NO DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE MEANS OF THE TWO GROUPS IN RELATION TO THE DEMOGRAPHIC DATA OF AGE, VETERAN'S STATUS, AND LENGTH OF POLICE SERVICE. AUTHOR MODIFIED
