This booklet reproduces magazine and newspaper articles, and other documents on the Aryan Nations, a coalition of far-right, underground, white supremacist groups engaged in a campaign of crime and racially motivated violence.
Abstract
Following a summary of current activities of the Aryan Nations and its links with other, more mainstream neo-Nazi and white supremacist groups, two articles examine the Aryan Nations' use of religion to justify its racist beliefs. Copies of Aryan literature illustrate the group's beliefs, goals, activities, and membership. These are further discussed in articles from the mainstream press covering the groups' attempts to influence the Oregon State Legislature, its recruitment efforts in correctional facilities, and its involvement in racially motivated violence and crimes including assault, murder, bombings, and robbery. Chronologies further document the activities of the Aryan Nations and the order from 1973 through 1986. Attempts to prosecute and convict group members of such crimes as racketeering, conspiracy, murder, and assault are discussed. Also included are rejections of racism and recantations by former group members.
