Changes in crime levels in Asian countries have changed in accordance with political, economic, and social changes, and this report contains crime statistics for Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, and Thailand.
Abstract
The crime statistics reflect the extent of violent crime, property crime, drug offenses, traffic accidents, juvenile delinquency, crime categories, arrestees, offense characteristics, index crimes, and organized crime. Data are also provided on the status of prisons and prisoners that characterize adult and young inmates, training and detention centers for adults and juveniles, drug addiction treatment centers, sentencing, correctional staff, and inmate treatment programs.
