DESCRIPTION OF A FLEET CONTROL OPERATION THAT REDUCED TOTAL FLEET MILES BY ONE-THIRD, CUT REPAIR COSTS AND RESULTED IN BETTER VEHICLE MAINTENANCE.
Abstract
THE GENESSEE COUNTY MOTOR POOL ADMINISTRATION NOW USES A ZIPCARD SYSTEM OF FLEET MANAGEMENT DEVELOPED BY THE STANDARD REGISTER COMPANY. THE ADMINISTRATIVE ADVANTAGES OF THIS SYSTEM INCLUDE THE ABILITY TO CHARGE DEPARTMENTS FOR USAGE ON AN ACCURATE AND EQUITABLE BASIS, THE SCHEDULING OF REGULAR PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE CHECKS, AND THE MORE EFFICIENT UTILIZATION OF VEHICLES.
