DESCRIPTION OF TWO SYSTEMS WHICH UTILIZE COHERENT OPTICAL CROSS CORRELATORS FOR AUTOMATICALLY IDENTIFYING FINGERPRINTS.
Abstract
THE FIRST SYSTEM IS A UNIQUE SECURE-ACCESS DEVICE WHEREBY PERSONNEL ARE REQUIRED TO DEPOSIT A FRESH FINGERPRINT TO ENTER SECURE FACILITIES. THE SECOND SYSTEM IS CURRENTLY BEING DEVELOPED TO AUTOMATICALLY LOCATE MATCHING FINGERPRINTS IN A LARGE IDENTIFICATION BUREAU. EXPERIMENTAL DATA WHICH ILLUSTRATES THE PERFORMANCE OF THESE TWO EQUIPMENTS IS INCLUDED. (AUTHOR ABSTRACT)
