A SYSTEM MODEL FOR UNDERSTANDING AND EVALUATING POLICE AUTOMATION IS ONE OF THE BOOK'S PRODUCTS. CHAPTERS II THROUGH V ANALYZE AUTOMATION SYSTEMS - ONE FROM EACH OF THE FOUR CATEGORIES ESTABLISHED IN CHAPTER I. THESE EXAMPLES REPRESENT THE VARIOUS TYPES OF LAW ENFORCEMENT SYSTEMS OF TODAY AND THE NEAR FUTURE. EACH CHAPTER ENDS WITH STANDARDS WHICH CAN BE APPLIED TO OTHER AUTOMATION SYSTEMS. A SYSTEM MODEL MATRIX IS USED TO EVALUATE ALL SYSTEMS DISCUSSED IN THE BOOK AS TO THEIR VALUE IN ACHIEVING THE OBJECTIVES OF LAW ENFORCEMENT.
