A National survey was undertaken in the fall of 1983 to determine the availability of health services in juvenile detention and correctional facilities.
Abstract
The preliminary results of selected items from the survey questionnaire are reported. Deficiencies in the provision of health services at some juvenile facilities were noted in the following areas: sick call, initial medical screening, follow-up physical examination, and on-going mental health and dental care. Data on suicides and lawsuits are included also. (Author abstract)
