This report presents the overall objectives of the Community Corrections Plan for Benton County, Oregon, as well as descriptions and objectives of specific programs administered by the Community Corrections Department.
Abstract
Benton County Community Corrections (BCCC) continues to be committed to working with community partners to provide effective services and sanctions within available resources. The BCCC will continue its partnership with Benton County Mental Health in providing outpatient substance abuse treatment at New Beginnings Treatment Center of New Beginnings. BCCC also continues its participation in the multi-jurisdictional Drug Treatment Court Staffing Team. The Benton County Sheriff's Office recently developed and implemented the Community Corrections Mental Health Transition Program in order to provide transitional housing and intensive supervision to offenders who suffer from mental illness. Due to statewide community corrections budget reductions, two recent staff vacancies have not been filled; it is anticipated that 2009-2011 State funding levels will not support these positions. Grant funding is being sought for these positions. Each of the BCCC's programs is described, along with its objectives and evaluation methods. The programs include the work of the Community Corrections Director, community supervision, sex offender services/sex offender supervision, outpatient substance abuse treatment, work crew/community service, subsidy/inpatient substance abuse, cognitive rehabilitation programming, transitional services/county prerelease planning, drug treatment court, transition center, and mental health transition/housing program.
