This document outlines services, policies, funding sources, and expenses of the Pennsylvania Bureau of Victims' Services and its Victim Services and Victims Compensation divisions.
The document presents several accomplishments by the Bureau of Victims Services: in 2001, the Bureau of Victims' Services supported several bills designed to enlarge the enumerated rights of the Crime Victims Act, approved Federal funding to provide direct services to victims of mass violence, and implemented a Code of Ethics for professionals providing services to crime victims. In addition, the Bureau began a victim assistance program designed to teach professionals how to provide services to crime victims. Also in 2001, the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency received an award from the Federal Violence Against Women Office to fund model programs to provide services to victims in rural areas. The document provides information on how a person can apply for a crime victim compensation award provided by the Crime Victims Compensation Fund.
